Angelina Jolie tattoos have always got her lots of attention from the
media- as often for the botched and horrible ones as for the ones which
are bold and inspiring. Going by the latest count, the femme fatale has more than a dozen of them on her.
As for the diva herself, she says she loves them all because their ‘strategic’ placement, says she, causes her filmmakers to be more creative in filming the nude scenes involving her. More often than not, however, they need to be covered with special makeup during her film shoots.

She has seven lines of co-ordinates inscribed on her arm which are the exact geographical longitude and latitude positions of her children.
She got this tattoo done from Noo Kanhphaii, a famous Thai tattoo artist, in a hotel near Bangkok.
The English meaning of this script is:
This Bengal tiger tattoo which is 12 x 8 inches in size is across her lower back and was inscribed on her by the same artist who did her Khmer tattoo. She got it done almost a decade back (in 2004) in Bangkok to show how elated she was on being given a Cambodian citizenship.
This tattoo which was done using a manual Thai needle is said to have taken more than two hours, which is a long time indeed!
A part of this creation helps cover up a window tattoo and a dragon with a blue tail tattoo she earlier had.
The script, we are told, means “Determination”.
This tattoo, according to Angelina, reaffirms her as a woman who thinks logically and does not believe in superstitions. (I can’t stop wondering why she got the Cambodian tattoo for good luck if she is not superstitious??? Any guesses?)
She later added V MCMXL to the existing XIII.
This cross on her is probably one of the actress’s oldest tattoos, having been there since 1995 before she got married to Johnny lee Miller.
Next to this cross tattoo is a Latin phrase which reads, “Quod me nutrit me destruit”.
That translates into, “What nourishes me, destroys me.”
Then, Jolie has a quotation by Tennessee Williams inscribed to the inner side of her left arm which reads,

Now, this is an unusual tattoo she has on her upper left arm. She decided to go for this piece of art because she wanted to cover up a tattoo dedicated to her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton which she had got removed by a laser treatment but had left behind telltale marks.She has seven lines of co-ordinates inscribed on her arm which are the exact geographical longitude and latitude positions of her children.
- The first line reads: N11° 33′ 00″ E104° 51′ 00″. That is the place in Cambodia which is the birth place of her eldest son, Maddox.
- The second line is: N09° 02′ 00″ E038° 45′ 00″. That is the exact location of an Ethiopian place where Zahara, her adopted daughter, was born.
- The third line says: S22° 40′ 26″ E014° 31′ 40″. That is for the place in Namibia where she delivered her biological daughter with Brad Pitt, Shiloh.
- The fourth line of coordinates is for the Vietnamese place where her son, Plax Then, was born. It reads: N10° 46′ 00″ E106° 41′ 40″
- The fifth and the sixth lines read the same: N43° 41′ 21″ E07° 14′ 28″. They refer to the place in France where her twins, Vivienne and Knox, were born.
- She recently added a 7th line of co-ordinates: . This is for Oklahoma, Brad Pitt’s birthplace.

Apart from the nearly 10 pieces of ink that we can see on her body, Angelina Jolie has a few hidden tattoos too, for which we have no pictures.- She had a pattern resembling energy waves below her navel. She had got it done from the famous tattoo artist, Daemon Rowanchilde in 1998.
- If rumor mills are to be believed, she has a tattoo in her pubic area too which alludes to ex-hubby Billy Bob. For obvious reasons, we do not have pictures of the same.
- She is recently said to have got a new permanent ink on her body as a declaration of her love for Brad Pitt. We still do not know where it is and what it looks like!
