favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was
inspired by
Olivia Palermo, Nicole Richie, and
Selena Gomez. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Olivia Palermo took to the streets of New York City
with her adorable dog in a breezy, cream-colored skirt, light-wash denim
shirt, leopard flats, oversize sunglasses, and a structured blue
crossbody bag. Olivia’s look is chic and put-together, but is also still
casual thanks to her denim shirt, which makes this ensemble very
versatile. I like the classy touch of Olivia’s structured bag, and the
pop of print from her leopard flats.
Olivia’s outfit is the perfect mix of girly and modern. A feminine
smocked lace skirt is balanced out by a denim shirt in a light-colored
wash. The accessories balance out in a similar way; a girly, classic
crossbody bag in pale blue is contrasted by some bold leopard flats. I
always associate cat-eye sunglasses with Olivia – since they always seem
to be a staple for her – and they are a great finishing touch for this
look.
Nicole Richie was spotted vacationing with her
family in St. Tropez, looking stylish in a pale blue sleeveless top, a
high-waisted floral double-slit maxi skirt, aviator sunglasses, and
delicate gold jewelry. Nicole’s look is perfect for summer – the floral
print of her skirt is fun and eye-catching, and the double-slits are
flirty and make the skirt more comfortable for a hot day. When it comes
to the accessories in Nicole’s outfit, less is more – a simple bracelet
and classic sunglasses are the ideal finishing touches.
A floral double-slit maxi skirt is a great transition piece that
works year-round. For warm seasons, it looks fab paired with a simple
sleeveless top in a pretty, light color like powder blue, and
embellished sandals. For colder seasons, the skirt can be paired with a
sweater and flats. Because the skirt is a standout piece, don’t
overwhelm it with accessories; a classic pair of aviator sunglasses and a
simple gold cuff bracelet are the ideal accents.
Selena Gomez celebrated her 21st birthday this past
week in a white-on-white ensemble perfect for a summer night out. Selena
paired white high-waisted shorts with a white crop top that featured
gold embellishments across the front. She accessorized her look with
some large hoop earrings and sky-high heels, which totally made a
statement on her special day. A monochromatic white look is especially
fresh during summertime, and the embellishments on Selena’s top add a
glam touch.
Part of the reason this outfit stands out is because of its
monochromatic color scheme. Even though we’re working with all white,
feel free to re-create this look in any other color of your choice! Crop
tops are still going strong– when wearing one, consider a pair of
high-waisted bottoms, because they give more coverage so that just a
hint of skin will show. This white crop top features similar
embellishment to Selena’s. Amp up the glam factor with a pair of hoop
earrings and a pink clutch bag. If you want to go all out, opt for a
pair of heels like Selena, but I love the way a metallic flat sandal
looks with this ensemble.
